Magic Triumphs Book Review

Brilliant

Andrews outdid themselves! This one was off the chart - the plot, the sarcastic conversations, the character developments especially with Huge D'Ambray (I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AFTER MISHMAR NOW), the battle action and the ending. It was perfect. It had an ending we deserved, an ending we did not know we needed.

I do not know if this was the last story of Curran and Kate, I hope to God not. I want more of them. They are fun, romantic and badass. There is no boring moment in the book. I felt like I was present in their house while conversing with the others while being on the street trying to protect Conlan and on the battlefield. I could not let go of the book, even at work. I had to finish it especially the moment d'Ambray enters the scene.

Kate and Curran never changed. They are the same as they were from the first book. Though I was scared for Curran with him eating God to attain power. But we knew why he did it at the end and it was worth it. As for Kate, her fighting scenes were so much better and she was so in control of her power. SHE WAS BRILLIANT!

As for the new addition of the family, Conlan Lennart, he was magnificent. A prodigy. I love how his parts were written in such a way that you feel like you're there and he was cooing with you. I just wanted to get into the book to hold him and load him with kissies. Cutest were-lion ever!

The other characters added their pizzaz to the stories and it is always a delight when they are converse with each other. From the druids, especially the one with the chickens, from the witch with the one who hates Kate to the assholes Knights, the Guild mercenaries, the biohazard dude, Teddy Jo aka God of Death, the Keep, the Casino vampires etc... It's a clusterfuck of amazing people with amazing talents.

The last battle kept you on your feet. I really thought Roland would not come or Neig would bring Kate to his realm and we would have a cliffhanger. I really expected a cliffhanger with this one. I am glad I got a closure.

Roland is fine but he's away now. He might come, well he will try all the time but he will meet resistance as always. Neig is dead as fuck. Good riddance! He was despicable. I love dragons and he dishonoured the mythical creature.

Erra's situation at the end was a surprise for me, maybe they'll make her arc now along with Julie. Oh, Julie, she grew so fast. I hope she knows what she's doing and even if she wants to explore on her own, she needs Dereck with her. PLEASE.

Kate, Curran and Conlan adventure of peace begins...
