Magnus Chase and the Ship of the Dead Book Review

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard #3 EPIC-TASTIC FINALE  I took my time with this one. It was worth savouring each page. I can't express how much I love this series. Magnus, Samirah, Blitz, Hearth, Mallory, T.J and Half-born have become my friends (in my head). The book has the typical Riordan's ingredients. It is hilarious, the adventures just don't stop, the actions even how gruesome it is, you are not horrified, you root for the characters, the plot has a flow and you learn tons on specific mythology, and this case, it's on Norse.  I could not help myself picturing Loki, Odin, Thorn, Heimdall and Frigg as the actors in Marvel's Thor. Though picturing Thor, Chris Hemsworth as a Metallica fan who likes to fart a lot was hard. I had to stretch my imagination there.  I won't summarise the story - those who read the first two will know what is going to happen in this and why our young (mostly dead heroes) are hell-bent in stopping Loki's

The Wicked King Book Review

The Folk of the Air Book 2 YOU CANNOT END IT LIKE THIS! I REFUSE!  Oh my god! I am having a mental breakdown. Someone sedate me until the next book comes out. You realise, Black, that I will need tons of books to forget how I need to read your next instalment.  Oh man!  I don't even know where to start. There are so many events and I don't want to spoil them - they are all important. But I will say, the title fits - he is bloody wicked indeed, till the end. He totally blinded me. I did not even focus on him, but only on Jude and who was the traitor. I was not that shocked when we discover who the traitor was - he was acting a little weird.  Madoc was predictable but using that foolish pawn at the end to take the army was brilliant. THAT FOOL! As if I did not have more reason not to like her. She needs to get her heart majorly broken to be able to think for herself. Jude, just made me respect her more. She is not good nor she's bad but she doesn't give up.

The Folk of Air Book 1  "If I cannot be better than them, I will become so much worse." - Jude   Holy acorn!  I swallowed this book whole in one day.  I just open it while I was in a waiting room and then swallowed three chapters. The moment I went home, I hit the bed and started to read while making a hot cappuccino. I COULD NOT LET IT DOWN! I was stressed for Jude. I just wanted to tell her to go to the mortal world and live there. But our girl is power hungry and she wants to have a place in a world where they don't respect her and where she came to live because she had no choice. The more I continued to read, the more I saw Arya Stark in Jude, but more power-hungry than revengeful. It's like if Arya came to stay with Cersei after her training at the Faceless men. Taryn reminded me of Sansa Stark at the beginning where she wanted to be married to fit in, to have a place. I must say I am not a fan of Taryn. I will read the novella on her story in a few

Queen of Air & Darkness Book Review

LAST BOOK OF THE SERIES  “Some lights were never meant to burn for long.”   Holy Raziel! So many things happened. It was like the City of Heavenly Fire again. I took so much time to finish this one, not because I did not want to read it but because I did not want it to finish it. The last one ended with deaths and sickness. I tried not to expect much about this one.  Liv was dead Robert Lightwood wad dead The Warlocks were sick from whatever the blights were The mortal sword was broken HOW COULD YOU EXPECT MUCH about this one! The more the plot continued, the more it got worst. From Julian begging Magnus for that stupid spell, the new jerk of a counsel, the suicide mission to faery, the weapon of the Seelie queen, Kieran's capture at the Scholomance to Julian and Emma becoming flaming giants.  WHAT?! MIND BLOWN WITH THIS ONE. I am so happy for Julian and Emma, and Magnus and Alec made me bawled. I just want the same for Clary and Jace now. *smirks* COME ON
