Wildcard Book Review

It was indeed a rematch! Whether it was the Warcross Finale, Emika against Zero or Hideo against Zero.   My mind is still reeling from all the unravelling of the secrets and mysteries. I sense that I am about to get a major book hangover from this one. I read it so fast when Emika started to learn about Zero, aka Sasuke Tanaka. The twists at that particular part kept me going until I swallowed the last paragraph and I felt empty.  I WANT MORE, MARIE! I needed more Hideo and Emika. And THIS IS THE LAST BOOK! I do not know why I thought it would be a trilogy. I expected a cliff-hanger at the end, that would make want to scream in my wardrobe or my pillow. It had a satisfactory ending. WHY! I mean I want a happy ending for the protagonists, but UGH! Bloody hangover! I am having serious withdrawals.  When I started to read the book and when Emika met Zero and his crew, I wanted her to tell him to go to Hideo and tell him he's alive. Hideo would stop the algor...

Embers (Dark in You) Book Review

Asher is the deal! After reading Magic Triumphs, with baby Conlan, I was pampered by baby Asher in this one. It's expected to be overwhelmed with Knox and Harper - their chemistry, and now we have Asher Thorne's dimple face and charismatic personality at only a few months old. I enjoyed this one. The  Dark in You series  is always a delight to read. It's fun and quick. If you remember the last book, you won't need to read everything which explains about past events or the obvious feelings of the protagonists toward each other. WE KNOW AND HARPER ARE DEEP AS HELL IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER. As the for the main plot, it was consistent. You will only get a break from the main event to enjoy Harper and Knox's fondling moments, their bonding moments with Asher and other family/sentinels fun times. It was the right balance and you do not get bored.  The main story here was to find the 4th horseman, or should I say, Horsemen. We had our little list of suspects but ...

Shades of Wicked Book Review

A Night Rebel Novel. I nearly lost hope about Frost writing Ian's story. I thought it would never come, but it did and I read it and I LOVED IT! I definitely devour that one. Took me four days and it would have taken me less if I wasn't working or sleeping. I waited so long to read Ian's story and when I got it, I just swallowed it whole. He would be proud of me. LOL From the moment I met Ian, in the Night Huntress Series, I wanted to know more. What resides about the layers and layers of sarcasm and assholery. He could not be that bad if he is so willing to help his friends. He treats them like family and would never hurt an innocent soul. In this book, we learnt it all. His deepest fears and the soft side of him. We even learn his true identity. I wished he would take the real name instead of Ian, the real name was much better and prettier. As for Veritas, she surprised me until the end. The woman is badass and has, or had so many secrets that I nearly tho...

Ocean Light Book Review

Ocean Light by Nalini Singh  A Psy-changeling Novel The Trinity Accord Era Being big isn't an advantage if you don't use your brains. Intelligence and strategy have won more fights than might. - Bowen Knight, Chief Security, Human Alliance In the middle of the read, I was already planning to give this book 4 Stars on Goodreads, but then... FREAKING KRYCHEK APPEARED. So it is a 5 Stars for me! The moment we first met Bowen Knight , I was curious about him. He could not be unimportant to introduced him and had him cameos in other stories as well. He had to be important and he effing is. He could nearly pass as a changeling alpha. The dude reeks of dominance.  The plot was well done, well written and to the point. There were no unnecessary descriptions that made you forget what the eff is happening or which conversation just happened. The descriptions only made you want to visit Lantia or Ryujin, or eat Kaia's blueberry pie. Enough to tickle the ima...

Warcross Book Review

Warcross book 1  I am obsessed!  This is officially my first time reading  Marie Lu ’s and I love it. The nuance of the plot, the characters and the writing style slayed. I could not stop reading. I was glued to my pages, even during a family dinner.  OBSESSED! And of course, after I devour this book like a proper Booklion, I had a bad book hangover. I HAD to get Marie Lu’s other books.  Our main female protagonist is a hacker and nearly homeless and penniless, namely Emika Chen who sports a rainbow hair. Life has definitely not been great for her. She is beautiful, smart and doesn’t give up.  One bold move on the famous interface Warcross, and she becomes a Celebrity. We're talking Black Mirror meets Ready Player One.  At first when Warcross is being introduced and described, I was in awe. I wanted to have this world. I live practically online - chat, ebooks, streaming movies and shows. So, having this while walking, doing daily chores...
