The Booklion Blog

Yo! What are we doing to our blue ball?  Personally, I have always been acute to listen, to watch or to read more about nature - it's destruction in progress and ways to help to minimise that imminent destruction. It was simple acts such as bringing a bigger eco-friendly plastic bags to pick up trash while going on a picnic, never throw out trash out of car windows or while walking on the street, pick up little plastics or garbage on the beach or use reusable napkins for daily usage and trying to encourage restaurants which banned plastic straws. The little things. I never thought of diving deep in the subject, it was not about being inconsiderate but lack of opportunity to do more... until now.  I have been chosen to work as an intern, a communication fellow most precisely for an organisation called SYAH. To sound very formal and informative, SYAH is youth led organisation which bring together a group of young people to ensure the better future of our pla...

I don't embrace the term Bookworm because I devour books rather than nibble like a worm. Hence, a  Booklion.  I write in a yearly diary every single day. I even write what I eat and the news of the day.  I have low tolerance on drama and gossips. It can be interesting sometimes but when it get borderline offensive, I'm out.  I am a huge DC and Marvel Fan. Don't ask me to choose, I love them both.  My superpowers include the ability to touch wet food in the sink without gagging and the ability to eat whatever I want without gaining weight.  I wanted to be a construction worker when I was a kid. Sexist remarks made me gave up on that. I must say I regret it a bit.  I have Ophidiophobia, which is the fear of snakes. Not a fan of reptiles but I will protect them if needed. My favourite reptiles are Dragons and Wyverns. I wish to master Shakespearean English and write letters to mine enemies.  I can either be superactive or procrastin...

Warcross book 1  I am obsessed!  This is officially my first time reading  Marie Lu ’s and I love it. The nuance of the plot, the characters and the writing style slayed. I could not stop reading. I was glued to my pages, even during a family dinner.  OBSESSED! And of course, after I devour this book like a proper Booklion, I had a bad book hangover. I HAD to get Marie Lu’s other books.  Our main female protagonist is a hacker and nearly homeless and penniless, namely Emika Chen who sports a rainbow hair. Life has definitely not been great for her. She is beautiful, smart and doesn’t give up.  One bold move on the famous interface Warcross, and she becomes a Celebrity. We're talking Black Mirror meets Ready Player One.  At first when Warcross is being introduced and described, I was in awe. I wanted to have this world. I live practically online - chat, ebooks, streaming movies and shows. So, having this while walking, doing daily chores...

My recent voyage on our beautiful planet was to Mapleland, Trudeauland or famously and commonly known as Canada.  I roamed the frozen land for 5 months and a half, precisely in Montreal. I must say as a resident who lived her whole life on a tropical island, the snow was a backhand slap on both my cheeks (on my face, of course. Though the numbness was felt on my backsides every time I lie on the snow for photography purposes).  The first road trip I made as to Quebec City, precisely to Village Valcartier, which is a snow station as well as an indoor water park. I definitely stayed in the water park the whole day. Had a blast! If you're in Quebec or going to Quebec and want some tropical air and water, head to Valcartier. Don't forget your swimming suits and your flip flop or sandals to wear inside. You can't wear your snow boots or any snow apparels. You will remain barefoot most of the time though and my favorite ride was the lazy river. Back to Mont...

The curse of this world was that it was ever changing. Friends today. Enemies tomorrow. And, as was presently true, even enemies could become more friendly.  Life was even peculier that way, as it kept everyone on their toes. You never knew where it was going to land you, or how quickly.  Sinner to saint. Hero to villain. A person's role could reverse itself in the blink of an eye. All it took was one good deed of redemption.

ALL ABOARD THE SEA WITCH, YOU FUTTOCKING BUFFOONS  I have been a fan of Kenyon for years, with the Dark Hunter Series (which include the Dream Hunters and the Katagaria, Drakomai etc). I was always intrigued with Thorn, and now have a series on his pawns. Ehehe  Devyl would shit wood if he was referred as Thorn's pawns. Though he was at the beginning, yet an ally is more appropriate wording. So, Deadmen Walking is the First novel of the Deadman's Cross series (I hope it's a series, not a futtocking trilogy). At the beginning, we meet Paden Jack who is fighting a sea monster - deformed Kraken if you judge by my imagination.  Then forward to his sister meeting the main protagonist of the book in a bar, the notorious Captain of the Sea Witch, Devyl Bane. He has crew of deadmen, called Hell Chasers and their leader is our Thorn. ehehe Cadegan's father, Lucifer's son and sexy mofo governing Asmodeus. His real name... I don't like, it makes him sound too human. T...

Apart from being an avid book devourer, I am also a self-proclaimed TV Shows binger. I watch too many shows for one human that I need a app called TV Time to keep me updated and to remind me to watch the newest episode or simply BINGE THE HECK OUT OF THE SEASON!  Netflix and chill, much?  I am into superhero shows a lot- literally watching most of them.  I do like the occasional romcom, but most of them are just filled with superpowers, dragons, bastards, arrows, capes, brains, blood and spaceship. ANYTHING TO KEEP AWAY FROM REALITY!  Hence, when this one is not reading, eating or sleeping, she is watching: The Flash Arrow Supergirl Legends of Tomorrow iZombie Game of Thrones The Orville Santa Clarita's Diet Jessica Jones Luke Cage Daredevil Iron Fist The Defenders Lost in Space (2018)  The 100 Krypton  Stranger Things The Big Bang Theory Shadowhunter Shannara Chronicles Teen Wolf (completed) And a romcom I need to catch ...
